We are thrilled to bring back the prestigious American Mathematics Olympiad (AMO) to Laos in 2025 organized Together with VIS and in partnership with SIMCC, Singapore. SIMCC is one of Asia’s largest academic contest organizers, committed to nurturing and identifying young talent. Through this collaboration, we aim to offer students from Grades 1 to 12 more opportunities to gain international recognition in mathematics, science, informatics, and art competitions.

We are proud to bring back the AMO 2025, an internationally recognized mathematics competition for elementary, middle, and high school students. Developed by Southern Illinois University (SIU) in partnership with SIMCC, AMO provides a platform for students to deepen their understanding of mathematics through engaging and challenging problem-solving exercises. Open to all students from Grades 2 to 12, the competition follows the US Common Core Standards, which are also aligned with many international education frameworks.

At the heart of AMO is the work of expert educators from Southern Illinois University, who design unique and thought-provoking questions tailored to spark students' interest in mathematics while enhancing their skills. Key benefits of participating in AMO include opportunities for university scholarships, tuition grants, Global Scholars Program eligibility, International Junior Honor Society (IJHS) membership, and internships. Awards, Achievements and Recognition

The top 40% of the participants will receive an award certificate and a medal. All awardees are invited to compete at STEAM Ahead 2025 to be held in Shenzhen, China and SIMOC 2026 to be held in Singapore.

Participants will receive the following:

1. Certificate and medal for Gold, Silver and Bronze winners.

2. Certificate, sgd50 AMO voucher (up to maximum of sgd1000 for all the perfect scorers) and Personalized medal for Perfect Scorers.

3. E-certificates are also given to participants who qualify for Honourable Mention and attain Certificate of Participation.

4. Each participant will be granted an online performance and statistical report that assesses their proficiencies across various topics, comparing their achievements with those of peers in the same grade on an international scale.

Individual Students

Schools

Participating schools will receive the following:

1. A certificate of recognition is awarded to schools that enrols 100 or more students for participation in the AMO competition..

2. Every school will be provided with online performance and statistical report for each participating student, aiding teachers in comprehending their students’ strengths and areas for improvement. Additionally, schools will receive competition-related statistics to facilitate curriculum enhancements.

3. In addition, the top scorer for every 100 AMO contestants from each school will be awarded a Training (LMS) and contest scholarship to compete in the Singapore Math Global Finals held online in March 2026.
